Aari Embroidery How to- Filling stitich

In Aari embroidery/maggam embroidery chain stitch is the basic stitch you have to learn.  Try doing the chain stitch in all directions like upward, downward, or sideways so that you'll get a hang of it and your hand will become flexible to do the chain in all directions.  The reason I am asking to practice Aari chain in all directions is,
when doing stretch stitches like satin stitch it will come easily for you.  Today I am going to explain how to do a filling stitch in Aari/maggam embroidery.  It is similar to satin stitch that I posted last week, but differ in a way we are doing that.

Material needed:
Fabric stretched in embroidery hoop
machine embroidery thread
Aari Needle
Pencil to draw a design.

First draw a simple design like leaf, then separate it into two parts.  Start from the bottom of the leaf by doing chain stitch and stretch it to the corner in upward direction, insert the needle there and pull the thread up, then do a lock stitch by doing a small chain stitch.  This is same as the Satin Stitch that I posted last week except that we are doing it little short and in crosswise.  Again pull the thread downward, insert and pull the thread up, finish with a lock stitch.  This is the pattern to do for this type of filling stitch.  I am posting a video tutorial for this one which will clearly explain the stitch and the pattern.
